How findspace works

The transparent marketplace for self-storage — here's what that means in practice.

Where does your pricing come from?

Prices shown on findspace are sourced from publicly available information on operator websites, where operators publish unit sizes and monthly rates. When an operator does not publish pricing online, we show the facility as “contact only” rather than guessing a price.

Promotions and special offers are displayed when we can reliably extract them from operator listings.

How often is information updated?

Listing data is refreshed on a regular automated schedule as part of our data pipeline. Pricing, features and availability can change at any time on the operator's own website — there may be a short delay before updates appear on findspace.

If you notice outdated information, please report it and we will review the listing.

How do you rank facilities in search results?

Search results are ordered primarily by relevance to your query and location. Factors include:

  • Distance from your searched suburb or map location
  • Match to your filters (unit size, features, etc.)
  • Data completeness (facilities with richer profiles may rank higher when otherwise similar)

findspace does not accept payment from operators to boost rankings. Sponsored placements, if introduced in future, will be clearly labelled.

Are operators able to update their listings?

Today, operators can contact us to request corrections, additions or removals. We verify changes against publicly available information where possible.

Self-serve tools for operators — including claiming a facility, updating pricing and viewing performance — are coming soon. If you represent a storage operator, visit For Operators or get in touch.

Where do reviews and ratings come from?

Ratings and review counts shown on facility pages are sourced from Google where available. findspace does not fabricate reviews. When on-site review content is unavailable, we link you to the operator's Google profile so you can read reviews directly.

How do you make money?

findspace is free for renters. Listing facilities is currently free for operators. Our long-term model may include optional paid tools for operators (such as enhanced profiles or analytics), but comparison results will remain clearly labelled and independent.

Are you affiliated with any storage operator?

No. findspace is an independent comparison platform. We are not owned by, or affiliated with, any individual storage operator. Learn more on our About page.
